In order to fully develop the whole person, all students are required to participate in either a yearlong club or seasonal sport.  It is our philosophy that such participation is vital in developing well-rounded students, broadening student interests, and encouraging a strong ownership of Saint Francis High School.  Additionally, with college admission becoming so competitive, colleges are now looking for students who show participation in school activities beyond the classroom.  In order for a yearlong activity to be counted for a student's participation requirement, the club or activity must either be academic, competitive or service oriented.  A strong commitment and weekly attendance is required.   The following Clubs meet one or all of the above-mentioned requirements:

The following clubs are also offered at Saint Francis High School.  In order for a student to be considered for and remain in the following clubs, a student must meet the activity requirement from the above list of clubs and/or participate in our sports program.

Art Club
The Art Club consists of students who have an interest in art and in showcasing their artwork in the many art competitions available throughout the school year.  The Art Club will meet once a week and members are required to attend 90% or more of weekly meetings. Students in the Art Club will explore the many different mediums of art, such as photography, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and painting.  Submitting of artwork to approved shows is required of all club participants.  Students in cooperation and guidance of the club sponsor will determine the projects students work on.

Beta Club
Students must meet certain criteria in order to be inducted into the Beta Club.  The selection for membership in Beta Club is made up from students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade.  They are students who are involved in community service, participate in an approved school activity or sport, and maintain an 87.5% core GPA.  Beta students maintain excellent conduct and support the Saint Francis community. 

Community Service Club
The Community Service Club plans projects for the students at Saint Francis throughout the school year.  Students must go through an application and interview process in order to be selected to be a Community Service Club member. Responsibilities include planning and organizing projects, creating fliers for upcoming events, signing up students for projects, sending out reminders, filling verification forms for completed projects, and assisting in fundraising activities.

The Drama Club
The Drama Club consists of students who have an interest and a commitment to the theatre.  This includes responsibilities on the stage, behind the stage and in the sound booth.  In cooperation with the club sponsor, students will learn the process of putting on a theatrical performance.  Students will learn how to prepare for performances through set building, auditions; line runs with actors, costume ordering, poster/program design, and publicity for productions.  Students will be introduced to improvisational games, script work, and student directed 15-minute plays, which will run throughout the year.  Students will help contribute to the two major productions: the One-Act Play and the Improv Show.  The Drama Team has Georgia High School Association regulations for competitions.

Equestrian Team
Students on the Equestrian Team are required to try out in the fall of the new school year.  Students on the team will compete in various shows throughout the year, striving for personal bests.  In cooperation with the team coach, students will learn the necessary skills needed in order to host and to promote a successful horse show.  Participation in the Equestrian Club takes place off campus at a designated horse farm.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Students in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes strive to model a life of integrity and character.  Students in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes are required to be involved in an approved school activity or sport.  In cooperation with the club sponsor, students work on skills necessary in making good and positive decisions.  The Fellowship of Christian Athletes meet once a week and strive to be a positive example to all he or she comes in contact with, whether on the field of play or in their school community.

The History Club
The History Club consists of students who have an interest and appreciation of the past. Students will gain knowledge about history by visiting various historical sites in and around the metro-Atlanta area.  The central focus of the History Club will be on the Civil War, WWII, Civil Rights, Roswell and Georgia history.

The Honor Council
The Honor Council is a student-administered system where elected members hear cases of alleged honor violations and submit its opinion regarding innocence or guilt and its recommendation for discipline to the administration.  Members are taught the judicial process and skills necessary to render effective decisions.

Outdoor Adventure Club
Outdoor Adventure Club consists of students who have an interest and an appreciation for the environment.  Students will participate in various outings and outdoor adventures throughout the year.  Students will learn how to plan and how to be prepared for the various adventures.  Adventures in the past have included white water rafting, hiking, biking, skiing, rock climbing, camping, and an end of year canoe and camping trip.  Students will learn the skills needed to have a successful trip. 

National Honor Society
Students must meet certain criteria in order to be inducted into the National Honor Society.  The St. Francis Chapter of the National Honor Society is comprised of students from the 11th and 12th grade.  Students selected for the National Honor Society are involved in community service, participate in an approved school activity or sport, and maintain a 90% core GPA.  Honor Society students must maintain excellent conduct and support the Saint Francis community.  They serve as role models in leadership and service.

Student Ambassadors/Peer Leaders*
Student Ambassadors are ambassadors to all new and existing students, Saint Francis parents, and the surrounding community.  Students must go through an interview process in order to be selected as a Student Ambassador.  Students must be in good academic and behavior standing and be committed to the Saint Francis ideals.  Student Ambassadors, in cooperation with the club sponsor, plan and prepare for the New Student Orientation. They work closely with new students to help them transition into Saint Francis High School. Student Ambassadors sponsor the Welcome Back Ice Cream Social.  They host a variety of speakers whose messages greatly impact the student body.

Student Government*
Student Government provides leadership from an executive body elected by the entire school.  Each class then elects it own governing body.  Elections are held in the fall of the new school year.  Student Government is comprised of students who are committed to the Saint Francis community.  The purpose of the organization is to provide a medium of communication between the student body and the administration.   Student Government members organize school-wide activities throughout the year while developing good leadership, scholarship, and citizenship skills.
