| Chip Madren Day at the St. Francis Baseball Field: February 25, 2012 |
|
The St. Francis Diamond Club and the St. Francis Baseball Coaching Staff are hosting a "Chip’s Nation Day" at St. Francis: Saturday, February 25, 2012.
As many of you know the Madren family has been dealt a tremendous challenge that has caused a drastic change in their lives. Chip Madren is a current student at the middle school, and attends with his two brothers Jack and Brett. Chip was diagnosed on Aug 17th, 2010 and was at Children’s HealthCare that night where his medical team began initial planning steps for saving him. His life has been impacted in the most profound ways. He is recovering from a difficult surgery where a tumor was removed from his brain.
The proposal is to have a full day of games (Varsity, JV, and Middle School) with Chip and his family as guests of honor. We will be having a cook-out and BBQ throughout the day, and all proceeds will be donated to “Chip’s Nation”, the fund set up to defray medical costs for Chip and his family. We will also be looking at other avenues for fundraising during the day. This will be a great day of family fun and support!
