Middle School Swim Team Wins NAML Championship
The Knights Middle School Swim Team added more hardware to the trophy case as they won the NAML Championships for the third straight season.
For the first time in many years, Saint Francis hosted the NAML Swimming Championships at the Cobb Aquatic center on Saturday, February 1st. The knights went into the championships with only one blemish on their record, a close loss to Holy Redeemer earlier in the season.
It was clear early in the meet that all the participating schools were hungry for the title, as records were broken in several events. Included in the record setting were the knights relay team of Justin Smith, J.R. Bivens, Keegan Ford and Jonathan Purdy. They beat the previous NAML record by more than a second. Several outstanding individual and relay performances lead to a first place finish for the boys, a second place finish for the girls and a third straight overall team championship.
Saint Francis would like to congratulate all of the following swimmers: 6th graders—Sydney Anderson, Lilly Benefield, Clare Marie Bufford, Bennett Drake, Cara Emling, Alex Garthe, Elizabeth Gouldman, Olivia Hadley, Annie Ingham, Nicole Ivey, Caitlin Marchant, Allison Middendorf, Lauren Middendorf, Kayla Mulvey, Calum Ogle-Tyrell, Johnathan Purdy, Samantha Stelling, Isabelle Wathen, 7th graders—Ali Arasin, J.R.
