Junior, Katherine Coyne, Awarded Grand Prize in City of Milton Art Contest

Congratulations to Katherine Coyne, Junior, Grand Prize winner of the Milton Grows Green School Art Contest with her art piece entitled “Earth Mother” utilizing recycled materials. The winning art was displayed in the MGG Booth at Earth Day, this Saturday, April 19th. In addition they will be displayed at Milton City Hall for the month of May. These winners will be announced at about 12:30 pm at the Earth Day Festival stage and the gift cards given to the 2 Grand Prize winners at that time.

Milton Grows Green Committee has stated goals consistent with the mission and values of the City of Milton including to: preserve and enhance the City of Milton’s rural character; encourage appropriate and sustainable growth for present and future generations; identify standards and incentives for greener, more sustainable building practices; promote sound public policy by providing research and information on practices that protect natural resources; develop a framework for evaluating and recommending and/or implementing appropriate initiatives; and, raise awareness and influence personal choices in ways that improve the health and quality of life for residents.
