The evening of September 19, was a very special night under the lights for Saint Francis High School and the family of Peter Carriuolo, as the football field was officially dedicated in memory of Peter. Prior to his death in 2003, Mr. Carriuolo served in numerous leadership roles at Saint Francis schools, including Middle School Athletic Director, High School lacrosse coach, and High School Dean of Students. He was also husband to Saint Francis College Counselor, Christine Carriuolo – Rice, and father to high school alumni, Tori Carriuolo. To say that he made an immeasurable impact amongst the faculty, staff, students and friends of Saint Francis would be an understatement.

During a special half-time presentation, Carriuolo family members, as well as The Carriuolo Family Foundation, were honored and recognized during the dedication and ribbon cutting, led by Mr. Buccellato, Headmaster of Saint Francis Schools, Colette Staak, Principal of Saint Francis High School, Chad McConnell, High School Athletic Director and Mark Weiss, Middle School Athletic Director.

In addition to an already special evening, the Saint Francis Knights closed the evening with a 21 – 0 win against the Mt. Zion Eagles. The Knight’s offense had over 300 yards rushing. Touchdowns were scored by Avery Showell, Jordan Ferguson and Aj Cummings. The Knight’s defense held Mt. Zion to only 130 yards of offense with Lake McClure leading the way with 10 total tackles and a sack. This was the team’s first Regional win in their first GHSA Region 1A schedule.
