Saint Francis Alumnus Malik Beasley Selected in NBA Draft

malike+beasleyMalik Beasley, a 2015 Saint Francis High School Graduate, was one of 3 players from the state of Georgia selected in the 2016 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 23rd.  After a tremendous High School career and just one season at Florida State, Beasley was selected with the 19th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets.

In his High School career at Saint Francis Beasley led the Knights to State Championships in 2014 and 2015.  He finished his career with 1,959 pts placing him 2nd on the Saint Francis All-time scoring list.  His 728 career rebounds are 3rd highest in school history.  He was selected to the All-Region Team 3 times in 4 years and was voted as Region 6 and Class A State Player of the Year his Senior Season.

At Florida State he continued to hone his craft by averaging 15.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.  He was named ACC Freshman of the Week 3 times.  Beasley set a Florida State record by scoring in double figures in 24 straight games to start his career.
