4th and 5th Graders Experience Canoemobile

Saint Francis 4th and 5th graders traveled to the Chattahoochee Nature Center to experience the Wilderness Inquiry Canoemobile on the Chattahoochee River and to study its watershed.  The Wilderness Inquiry Canoemobile is a roving fleet of six 24-foot, 10-passenger Voyageur canoes that travel the country on a mission to get as many youths as possible out paddling on their local urban waterways.  Each canoe held up to nine students/chaperones and one highly trained boat captain, allowing our students who have never been on the water to have their first paddling experience.

Wilderness Inquiry Canoemobile is a well-established organization that has been doing this work nationally and internationally for 35+ years.  Our experience was provided by our own Chattahoochee Nature Center.  Our students came away with an awesome understanding and had a terrific day on the river.
