Building Character Through Community Service
At Saint Francis School, we believe that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms—it’s about building character, fostering leadership, and instilling a lifelong commitment to service. Each year, our students dedicate thousands of hours to community service projects, creating a positive impact locally and beyond.
From mentorship programs and environmental initiatives to charitable drives and hands-on volunteer work, our students embrace the responsibility of giving back. Whether it’s collecting food for families in need, mentoring younger students, or supporting veterans and first responders, service is a core part of who we are.
How Our Students Serve
- Peer Leadership & Mentorship: Saint Francis Peer Leaders guide and mentor younger students, including welcoming our 5th-grade "Squires" for a day of bonding and learning. This program fosters leadership, responsibility, and connection across grade levels.
- Environmental Stewardship: Our students take action in protecting the planet through recycling programs, sustainability projects, and conservation initiatives. Beta Club has implemented a campus-wide recycling effort, ensuring that sustainability remains a key focus.
- Fighting Hunger & Supporting Families: Students donate and distribute canned goods to support North Fulton Community Charities, ensuring local families have access to nutritious food. Their commitment has resulted in thousands of meals donated.
- Promoting Literacy in Younger Students: Each year, our National Honor Society (NHS) students serve as mystery readers for elementary school students, fostering a love for reading and learning. This initiative builds connections across grade levels while inspiring younger students.
- Fundraising & Awareness Initiatives: Students regularly raise funds for critical causes, including the Light the (K)night for LLS campaign, where Saint Francis Peer Leaders raised $8,140 for leukemia research. These efforts teach students the power of collective action and advocacy.
- Serving Those Who Serve Us: Our students show appreciation for military members and first responders by organizing donation drives and care packages. Their efforts provide comfort and support to those who protect and serve our country.
A Culture of Giving Back
Saint Francis students collectively contribute over 3,600 hours of community service each year. From volunteering at food banks to participating in service-learning projects, our students develop a deep sense of social responsibility and civic engagement.
Our service initiatives teach students that small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Whether organizing school-wide drives or engaging in hands-on work, students at Saint Francis are empowered to be changemakers in their communities.
